IEA/NEA Mission

The Sycamore Education Association (SEA) proudly respresents over 280 teachers serving over 3600 students in grades PreK-12th grade in Sycamore Community School District #427. SEA is a local affiliate of the Illinois Education Association

The Illinois Education Association-NEA’s mission is to effect excellence and equity in public education and to be THE advocacy organization for all public education employees.

National Education Association (NEA) is the world’s largest professional organization with headquarters in Washington, D.C. The association orginated in 1857 as the National Teachers Association later merging with the National Association of School Superintendents and the American Normal School Association in 1870. In the early 21st century its membership exceeded 2.5 million.
